Concrete ceiling

A concrete ceiling in an electrical substation for EDF Energy in Euston, London.

This was a huge job, conducted in a confined space, so working conditions were very tight. We drilled and installed dowels in perimeter walls, set out and built rebar in position, then cut and built shuttering underneath the ceiling. We installed 70 acrows to take the weight and provide support. We then poured 22 tonnes of concrete. Once the concrete had set, we removed the acrows.
